What Sets Us Apart?
HHI’s culturally familiar and cost-effective project design and its mission for long-term maintenance enable us to provide a lasting solution to Bokaro’s water crisis while addressing the root cause of health disparities and its implications among this population.
UNICEF studies have shown that up to 50 percent of water access projects fail after just 2 to 5 years simply due to lack of follow-up. Our project, at its core, is devoted to sustainable access to water, where our critical advantage lies in our commitment to a minimum ten-year monitoring period and repair services, both as fundamental parts of each hand pump installation.
Similarly, our projects are particularly cost-efficient while maintaining the integrity of their efficacy, with our initial hand pump project costing only $602.12 to implement and maintain.
Our team recognizes that a one-time service project that does not account for long-term feasibility simply cannot sustain the impact that we aim to have. Putting the villagers at the heart of our project and creating changes to optimize our approach to best fit the individual community needs propels our promising projects.
